Madonna, the singer-songwriter is accused of child trafficking. The Material Girl singer has been trending on Twitter, not for her upcoming ‘The Celebration Tour’ but for serious child trafficking accusations by the Ethiopian World Federation.

The Ethiopian World Federation, which “advocates to change the laws that harm all Black People.”  has accused the musician of abusing children. They discovered a number of issues with the musician’s adoption of her four kids: David Banda, Mercy James, Esther and Stella, and twins.

The EWF has asked Malawian President Lazarus Chakwara to look into Madonna’s humanitarian organisation Raising Malawi. By offering health and educational activities, the nonprofit asserts that it supports orphans and disadvantaged kids.

The EWF is requesting that the Material Girl singer and her associates be barred from entering Africa and denied access to African children until an inquiry into “child trafficking, s*x exploitation, sexual slavery, adoption reversal, the threat of coercion, fraud, deception, and abuse of power or vulnerability” is completed.

In their petition, the EWF cited Madonna’s 1992 book Sex as a source of concern. The book contained adult content such as pornography, bestiality, sadomasochism, and LGBTQ references.

According to reports, homosexual behaviour is illegal in Malawi. According to the EWF, in the book Sex: “Gay porn stars were photographed in pornographic pictures with Madonna performing vulgar sex acts with the same sex which should have been disclosed during her adoption case in 2006 in Lilongwe, Malawi.”

The EWF continued by asserting that the author opened her own orphanage, Raising Malawi, “to host social experiments on vulnerable African children in Malawi” as a result of her book’s child pornographic material, religious iconography, and other vulgar media.

According to the EWF, Madonna was using David Banda, her adoptive son, “for sexual exploitation and social experiments.” This comes after pictures of Banda sporting women’s attire, accessories, and cosmetics surfaced. According to reports, the singer also falsely accused Yohane, Banda’s biological father, of being a distant parent.

Yohane has expressed reservations about Madonna being a parent since David Banda’s adoption. This arose as a result of the singer’s divorce from Guy Ritchie. Following their divorce, her adolescent son Rocco refused to return home with Madonna. The singer also falsely promised Yohane that she would provide a good education for Banda and allow him to return home to live with Yohane. However, this did not happen.

Madonna also adopted Mercy James after a court battle. The singer was finally able to do so after previously being accused of child trafficking. Judge Esimie Chombo is concerned about Hollywood celebrities adopting children, which could lead to child trafficking. She stated: “Anyone could come to Malawi and quickly arrange for an adoption that might have grave consequences on the very child that the law seeks to protect.”

Madonna eventually won the case by appealing it to the Supreme Court.

Lucy, Mercy James’ grandmother, did offer a heartbreaking perspective on James’ adoption, though. The infant was kept in an orphanage until her immune system strengthened, according to the grandmother. She made it clear that she didn’t have any plans to break things off with James for good.

Mercy James’ family then allowed Madonna to adopt her until she was old enough to start elementary school, after which she would go back to Malawi to live with her family. The family added that they requested Madonna allow James to visit the nation every two years.

Mercy James and Madonna did go back to Malawi. Mercy James’ grandmother was on her deathbed and begged to see her grandchild, but she never got the chance to meet her. The similar situation was handled by Madonna’s attorneys in 2011, who claimed that James’ family had “no legal right to see her.” In an interview, Lucy mentioned James and stated:

“Before I die, I should set my eyes on her so that my spirit is rejuvenated… Should I really die without seeing her? Oh God!”

Peter Baneti, Mercy James’ biological uncle, approved of the adoption. He claimed in an interview that the singer had said she did not want Mercy to “break links with her heritage.” The family was unable to accommodate James, however, as the aforementioned requirements were only a verbal agreement and not a formal contract.

After agreeing to provide Esther and Stella a proper education and subsequently return them to their biological father, Adam Mwale, the singer was also granted permission to adopt the twins. It was rumoured that the singer would play a foster mother. But ultimately, it resulted in a permanent adoption.
