Luke Valentine, a competitor on Big Brother 25, has been kicked off the US version of the reality series after he was discovered using a racial slur during the show’s constant live feed.
When speaking with contender Jared Fields, Hisam Goueli, and Cory Wurtrnberger, the 30-year-old white illustrator first remarked, “We were in the f*** room, n*,” before correcting himself and adding, “dude.”

He then added, “Anyways, we were in the fking cheese room.” Luke twice apologized amid laughs. You can hear Jared laughing and exclaiming, “Yo, you’re off the fking ledge!” off-camera.
After Cory and Hisam left the room, Valentine turned to Fields and said, “He got more mad about that than you. A little slip of the tongue.” Fields responded with, “I don’t give a f***. I should’ve made you feel more uncomfortable, like ‘yo bro what did you just say?'”

Valentine added, “I should have been lying face down on the floor and you standing over me to make him feel better.” Fields retorted saying, “They just don’t know how to handle and that’s so funny to me. In situations like that, that should be uncomfortable for a black man, white people get more uncomfortable. I always used to tell my girl that because I dated a white girl… I could tell they were uncomfortable because they thought I was going to respond a certain way “
A grinning Valentine said, “I’m in trouble now, oh well I’ve been in worse trouble.” While Valentine dismissed the incident with a laugh, viewers demanded that he be fired from the show.

“Production should remove Luke. Set an example. Show current and future players that language like that will not be tolerated,” Andy Herren, who won the US show’s 15th season wrote on Twitter. “Production loves hiding racism and homophobia and transphobia when straight white men are involved. Hoping they actually do the right thing and address Luke’s comment. The way it so casually came out of his mouth is really upsetting.”
On Wednesday, show network CBS confirmed that Valentine had been fired. “Luke violated the Big Brother code of conduct and there is zero tolerance in the house for using a racial slur. He has been removed from the house,” CBS told Variety on Wednesday. “His departure will be addressed in Thursday night’s show.”
