Brazil President Jair Bolsonaro landed in a soup after he told media on Monday that he was bored of questions related to COVID-19 deaths in the country. Recently, Brazil crossed the milestone of 600,000 COVID-19 deaths, which is Latin America’s biggest toll so far making it the world’s only second country to touch that mark.

“In which country did people not die? Tell me! Look, I didn’t come here to be bored,” the leader was quoted as saying by Al Jazeera.

The Bolsonaro, a far-right leader who is often seen downplaying COVID-19 pandemic and vaccination, made the statements at the beach in Guaruja, in Sao Paulo state, surrounded by supporters.

The minister’s irresponsible statement on an infection that killed millions around the globe, was not taken well by the social media users. Several Twitter people took to the platform to express shock and anger towards the leaders’ remarks.

“There have been 600,000 COVID19 deaths in Brazil and Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro has said he is bored with questions about the deaths. Listen carefully to the comments of the PM and NSW Premiers and there is a similar reluctance to discuss COVID19 deaths,” said one user

“Right wing lunatic @jairbolsonaro who greatly contributed to 0,6 million deaths for #Covid19 in #Brazil says he is bored on these deaths. It seems that it is not a coincidence that alt-right politicians are mostly psychos,” said another user.

Earlier this week, Bolsonaro has once again questioned the veracity and significance of COVID-19 vaccines as he was denied entry into a stadium to watch a soccer game.

The president in a video, which has now gone viral, can be seen making irresponsible statements like vaccine passport should not be mandatory for stadiums and such spots.

The leader, who has reportedly been tested positive for COVID twice had refused to get vaccinated against the infection and was often caught criticising vaccine rules and protocols.

Meanwhile, a Brazilian Senate committee in April launched an investigation into Bolsonaro’s pandemic policies, which is expected to release a final report in the coming weeks.
