India recorded 20,550 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, according to the Health Ministry’s data released on Wednesday. 286 deaths were recorded on Tuesday.

Thus, India has recorded 10,244,853 novel coronavirus cases and 148,439 deaths.

There are 262,272 active virus cases in the country, while 9,834,141 have recovered.

India recorded its first virus case on January 30. It has since emerged as the second-worst hit nation by COVID-19.

The United States remains the hardest-hit, with over 19.54 million cases and 338,544 deaths, as per the tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The first case of the novel coronavirus was recorded late last year in the central Chinese city of Wuhan. It has globally infected over 81.9 million people and killed more than 1.78 million of them.
