Team USA endured a disappointing day in the
Tokyo Olympics on Friday as the team failed to win a single gold medal. China
still leads the pack on the medal tally with 19 gold medals, 5 more than USA’s
14, while hosts Japan are second with 17 golds.

The nation will hope that Day 9 brings better
news from the Japanese capital with the Olympics entering a decisive phase.

Swimmer Katie Ledecky will be in action in the
Women’s 800m freestyle final while Caeleb Dressel will swim for gold in the
Men’s 100m butterfly final.

In weightlifting, Harrison Maurus will be in
action in the Men’s 81kg event.

Coming to the Triathlon mixed relay event,
team USA will have a chance to win a gold medal for their country in the final.

Men’s RS:X medal race. In Diving, USA’s Krysta
Palmer will feature in the Women’s 3m springboard semi-final.

Coming to athletics, KC Lightfoot will play
the Men’s pole vault event while Isaiah Jewett will start his Men’s 800m
campaign with a Heat race. Sam Mattia will be in gold medal contention in the
Men’s discus throw final

Team USA will take on the Russian Olympic
Committee
team in the Women’s volleyball Pool B.

In the Baseball Men’s tournament, USA will be
up against South Korea.

The United States Men’s Basketball team will
take on the team from Czech Republic while the women’s Beach volleyball team
will be up against Brazil.

Other than that, athletes from USA will be in
action in Equestrian, Fencing, BMX, Rugby and other events.
