Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar recently appeared on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ to talk and promote his newly-launched film ‘BellBottom’. He was joined by Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Jackky Bhagnani. In an episode that was filled with laughs and pranks, an unusual thing transpired.

In a question and answer round with the audience, Kapil, the host of the show, called upon a girl to speak. The girl said that she is a very big fan of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and wishes to meet him. Kapil said that the only person who can make her dream a reality is Bhagnani, who is a producer. The girl, in reply, said, “Akshay sir, and Jacky sir, bas aap logo se hi hope hai.”

In reply, Akshay said that he will try and call up Shah Rukh Khan and if he picks up, she can speak to him. A stage staff came and handed Akshay his personal phone. The ‘BellBottom‘ actor dialled the ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ actor. However, his phone was switched off.

Unfazed, the fan asked Akshay to try his other number. He obliged. But to no avail, again.

Not giving up, she requested the ‘Dhadkan’ actor to call up Gauri Khan, Shah Rukh Khan’s wife. After this, taking control of the situation, Kapil in a joking manner told Akshay to drop the matter or else Gauri might blame him for ‘spoiling SRK’.

On the work front, Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘BellBottom’ enjoyed a four-day weekend at the Indian box office. Even though the theatres are running at 50% capacity, with many still closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic-induced restrictions, the film earned an estimated Rs 4.25-4.50 crore net on Sunday, Times of India reported.

Despite a low number of audiences, the film is expected to rake in Rs 13 crore net from its weekend business.

“The pressure is there on everybody but I’m very sure that things are going to work out. There’s a challenge, a risk. But if you haven’t taken the risk in life, then what have you done? So we have gone with it,” news agency PTI quoted Akshay as saying about the release of ‘BellBottom’ in the times of the pandemic.

‘BellBottom’ is reportedly the first Bollywood film to complete its shooting during the lockdown.
