Actor Sonu Sood, who helped thousands of migrants in India during the lockdown last year, has tested positive for COVID-19, he tweeted today. The actor has self-isolated himself and has said that he was fine and there was no reason to worry.

Sonu Sood was hailed as a hero after he helped a large number of migrants return home during the Covid lockdown by hiring buses to transport them from Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra.

The Bollywood actor-tuned-philanthropist has launched an initiative in which he is gifting e-rickshaws to those who have lost their livelihood during the Covid-19 pandemic. The “Dabangg” actor named this initiative as “Khud kamaao ghar chalao”.

Earlier this year, Sonu Sood had launched the Pravasi Rojgar app for those who lost their job due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The app connects them to multiple companies and also offers specific programs to help improve their skills.

Earlier this week, the actor was appointed as the brand ambassador for Punjab’s anti-coronavirus vaccination programme.
