AIADMK leader VK Sasikala said on Wednesday that she is quitting public life, reported PTI. The former leader asked all true supporters of Jayalalithaa to prevent “common enemy” DMK from coming to power in assembly polls and ensure “Amma’s golden rule in Tamil Nadu,” reported PTI.

In a statement, she said, “I will stay away from politics and keep praying my sister Puratchi Thalaivi (Jayalalithaa), whom I consider as God, and the Lord Almighty for the establishment of the golden rule of Amma.”

Following her release from a Bengaluru prison following completion of a four-year term in an assets case, Sasikala had last month announced her intention to engage in active politics.

Ahead of the crucial assembly elections, Sasikala’s subsequent political moves, that includes the stand of the AMMK floated by her nephew TTV Dhinakaran in the polls, was keenly awaited by observers and political parties alike in the state.
