Guru Purnima is a significant event in the Hindu calendar because it is on this day that people pay homage to their gurus (teachers/mentors).

The Sanskrit word ‘guru’ is formed from the words gu and ru, where gu denotes ignorance/darkness and ru signifies removal/removal. As a result, the guru is the one who dispels darkness-like ignorance by showering their pupils with wisdom. As a result, students express gratitude to their teachers for instilling life’s values in them and providing education.

On the Purnima Tithi (Full Moon Day) in the month of Ashadha is when Guru Purnima is observed. It’s also the day when Veda Vyasa, the author of the ancient Indian epic Mahabharata, was born. Here’s a list of all the important details about Guru Purnima 2021.
