Aryan Khan, son of
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, will be expecting orders on his bail
applications on Wednesday. A special Mumbai court is hearing his bail plea in
the cruise drug bust case. The 23-year-old filed his bail applications last
week.

Aryan Khan was arrested
by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on October 3 after sleuths of the
anti-narcotics agency raided a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast going towards
Goa. Seven others, including Khan’s friend Arbaaz Merchant, were arrested.

Following his
arrest, Aryan Khan was in NCB custody after which he was moved to Mumbai’s
Arthur Road jail on October 8 where he has been stationed over the last few
days.

The NCB has said
in court that Aryan Khan is a regular consumer of drugs while Khan’s lawyers
said that NCB had not found any drugs on his person or any other evidence that
suggested he was about to use any outlawed substance.

In response, the
anti-drugs agency has cited Aryan Khan’s WhatsApp chats which the agency claims
show the 23-year-old’s ties to an international cartel and that he regularly
sourced drugs.

To this, Aryan
Khan’s lawyer Amit Desai said that the WhatsApp chats NCB was relying on heavily
can often appear suspicious because of the language young people use.

“Conversations on
chats can often be misunderstood. WhatsApp chats are supposed to be private
conversations. But I am told there are no messages or conversations about on
the mobile about the rave party,” Desai told the court.

Meanwhile, Khan’s
stay in prison has attracted a great deal of media attention. Aryan Khan
apparently broke down while speaking to his parents Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri
Khan when they tried to console him, reported ETimes.

Further, media
reports say that Khan had been counselled by officials including the
anti-narcotics agency’s zonal director Sameer Wankhede. Aryan Khan reportedly
said that he would avoid wrongdoing and work to help the poor and misguided and
would make everyone proud of him.
