Young Australian opener Will Pucovski
enjoyed his debut thoroughly against India on Thursday, while terming Indian
spinner R Ashwin the most unique bowler to face, reported PTI.

Aussie opener Pucovski scored 62 runs
after missing out on the first two Test matches due to concussion after getting
hit on the head during a warm-up game ahead of the first Test.

“It was a pretty incredible
experience. It’s meant everything to be honest, that I am putting in a lot of
hard yards on and off the field, hopeful that this day would come and it was a
very special day,” PTI quoted Pucovski as saying in a press-conference.

Focussing on off-spinner R Ashwin,
the young Aussie highlighted his abilities due to the former’s variations.

“They are all
very good. Playing your first game, I would say Ashwin, probably, is the one
who is the most unique in a way”, Pucovski was quoted as saying, adding that
Ashwin, with his variations, was quite challenging due to it being something he
himself had not experienced prior to the match.

The batsman hoped Australia
to dominate the match, noting further that “It was a very nice batting
wicket. I am very hopeful that with the amount of batting in the team now and
what we have got to come, we can post a really good total and then with the
world-class attack that we have put them (India) under the pump,”.

Pucovski built up a
104 run-partnership with Marcus Labuschagne on the first day of the Third Test
match.
