Battlegrounds Mobile India, an Indian avatar of the popular Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), has made an impressive run so far. With just over a month after the game was released on the Google Play Store, it has now garnered more than 50 million downloads.

It is reportedly said that the game’s developer Krafton has been giving away rewards to players in the game as it continues to rake up more downloads on the Play Store. BGMI players have now received a Galaxy Messenger Set which is a permanent addition to their library.

Meanwhile, the company is also hosting an Independence Day Mahotsav in the game that is LIVE until August 19, after the Freedom Face-Off event that was held on August 15.

According to the company, the gamers can gain access to an AWM skin which is a temporary item in the game.

In a press statement on the game’s official website, Wooyol Lim, Head of Krafton%u2019s Battlegrounds Mobile Division said, “We extend our warm wishes to our Indian fans on the occasion of Independence Day. We are delighted to be a part of this celebration, made even sweeter with Battlegrounds Mobile India hitting 50M downloads on Play Store in just over a month! I am looking forward to an equally strong response to our first esports tournament starting next month.%u201D

The executive is referring to the BGMI’s first esports tournament that witnessed 5.4 lakh registrations. According to the company, registrations are still open and the stream schedule will be revealed after the registrations are closed.

Krafton also announced that it would make announcements on the iOS version of the game very soon on Battlegrounds Mobile India social media channels.

Earlier, the company banned more than 336,000 players after they were found cheating within the game. These accounts have been banned permanently and will not be able to make it back to the game.
