Shiv Sena MP and
party spokesperson Sanjay Raut said on Sunday that farmers protesting against
Centre’s farm laws are being treated as ‘terrorists’, and highlighted them not
being allowed to enter Delhi as sad, PTI reported.

Raut reportedly said
that the government should consider the farmers’ demands with a more sympathetic
outlook.

As part of their
protest against the Centre having enacted three agricultural laws, thousands of
farmers have gathered at the border points of the national capital.

“It is sad they are not being
allowed to come to Delhi and are being treated as if they are terrorists and
have come from outside the country. The government should consider the demands
of farmers sympathetically,” Raut was quoted as saying by PTI.

Replying to a query, Raut further claimed
that farmers were being labelled as ‘divisive’ as they hailed from Punjab.

“Do you want to create instability
by reminding the Punjab farmers of the Khalistan movement period?” Raut
said, taking an offensive stance to the centre.

On Sunday, thousands of farmers
continued their protests in Singhu and Tigri border points, as farmer leaders discussed
amongst themselves the future strategies of holding talks with the government.

With several entry points to the capital
city blockaded off, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had previously appealed to
the farmers to shift to Burari ground, and said that the Centre would be
willing to hear them out as soon as they shifted to the designated place.
