Looks like the COVID-19 call has reached the North pole after all, as the only conversation Santa Claus wants to have with the decorated children is on Zoom.

The coronavirus pandemic that first affected Easter has spread its arms to hug Christmas and ensure that Saint Nicholas no longer leaves with his presents laden reindeer sleigh to sneak down the chimneys to offer presents.

The Santa going over Zoom calls to entertain children and make Christmas more festively, is a mere consequence of the lack of involvement the Noel based enterprises are going to face.

Ireland’s ZoomSanta, will offer children a chance to meet Father Christmas inline as people all around the world could book a call with Santa Claus by filling a questionnaire about their children. A 10-minute call with Santa would cost €34.99 (Rs 3,000).

The bigger business of Lapland, a UK based travel company that arranges seasonal trips to Finland (Saariselka), had to arrange private meetings with Santa Claus after having to postpone the trips of visitors this Christmas,The National reports.

“We have regretfully made the extremely difficult decision to suspend all trips to Santa’s Lapland in December 2020, as a result of the unpredictable and constantly evolving situation of COVID-19,” Indian Express reported the company’s statement.

A 10-minute call that will cost £85 per family (Rs 8,214.58), involving upto four children will see Santa go live from his cabin. This personalized expirience goes by the name- ‘Live from Lapland’.

The websites are offering Personalized Pre-Recorded Messages, school packages and corporate booking too, in an effort to manage the festive season virtually.
