The Delhi High Court on Tuesday granted bail to ‘Pinjra Tod’ member Devangana Kalita in connection with a case related to Delhi violence in February this year, ANI reported.
The JNU student will be released on furnishing a personal bond of Rs 25,000 with one surety of the like amount, to the satisfaction of the Trial Court.
Kalita, along with another ‘Pinjra Tod’ member Natasha Narwal were arrested by the Delhi Police on May 23 in connection with a protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act in north-east Delhi in February, this year.

The HC’s decision on Tuesday came a few days after it denied bail to Kalita.
Additional sessions judge Amitabh Rawat said on Saturday that Kalita had planned and participated in road blockades, during the violence in Delhi earlier this year, Hindustan Times reported. He said that the statements by the witnesses clearly point to the role of Kalita as well as other co-accused persons.
She is lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail.
