Veteran Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar turned 77 on Monday. On this occasion, actor Farhan Akhtar dug out an old picture of his father and shared a heartfelt note on social media.

Javed Akhtar was born on January 17, 1945, in Gwalior. He is a poet, lyricist, screenwriter, and political activist. He was first recognised in the duo Salim–Javed and earned his breakthrough as a screenwriter with Zanjeer. He also wrote Deewar and Sholay which were released in the same year (1975). He is known for his work in Hindi cinema and has won five National Film Awards, and received the Padma Shri in 1999 and the Padma Bhushan in 2007, two of India’s highest civilian honors.

He campaigned for the Communist Party of India (CPI) and their candidate in the 2019  general election and was a member of parliament in the Rajya Sabha.

Farhan Akhtar’s Instagram post received a lot of love from fans, including his girlfriend Shibani Dandekar. In the picture, we can see a young Javed Akhtar standing near the sea and enjoying the view. And Farhan, wrote, “This is how I’ve always known you to be .. thoughtful, restless, curious and always searching for what’s beyond the obvious. Hope you realize how many you’ve inspired to try and live that way. Happy birthday Pa ..(sic).”

Shibani Dandekar dropped two heart emojis on Farhan Akhtar’s post in the comments section.

According to sources, Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar are taking the plunge on February 21, 2022. However, there has been no official announcement from Farhan and Shibani.

Farhan will be directing Jee Le Zaraa, starring Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
