After Bollywood
actor Vidya Balan, Shibani Dandekar has come out in support of Rhea Chakraborty
and slammed the media for her vilification in Sushant Singh Rajput’s case.

Rhea has
been in the news after appearing in several interviews where she put forth her
side in Sushant’s case. She was accused of abetting Sushant’s suicide and
misappropriating his money by the late actor’s father in an FIR in Patna.

On
Wednesday, actor Vidya Balan called out the “vilification of Rhea
Chakraborty” in connection with Sushant’s death, saying it is unfortunate

On Sunday,
South star Lakshmi Manchu lamented that media had made a monster out of
Chakraborty and asked them to refrain from “being evil and cruel”
towards her.

Replying to
Manchu, Balan posted a statement and said that the coverage into Rajput’s death
is unfortunate.

“It is
so unfortunate that the tragic and untimely death of a beloved young star
Sushant Singh Rajput has become a media circus. In the same breath, as a woman,
my heart breaks at the vilification of Rhea Chakraborty. Isn’t it supposed
to be ‘innocent until proven guilty’, or is it now ‘guilty until proven
innocent’!?” the 41-year-old actor wrote.

The ‘Shakuntala
Devi’ star further requested people to let the law take its course and refrain
from passing judgements.

Shibani
Dandekar, also released a statement and questioned the ‘torture’ Rhea and her
family is witnessing by the media. She questioned how she was vilified on
national television. Further, she mentioned that she saw how Rhea’s mother’s
health deteriorated after the accusations against Rhea and that Showik
Chakraborty was ‘forced’ to grow up.

Take a look
at what she said:

Sushant was
found dead at his Bandra apartment on June 14.

The Supreme Court had last week upheld the
transfer of the FIR lodged in Patna to the CBI.
