The farmers’ protests against Centre’s three agri laws has entered day 34, on Tuesday. The protesters, on Monday, agreed to the government’s proposal of holding the next round of talks on Wednesday. The Centre has held several rounds of inconclusive talks with the protesting farmers.
Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Monday said that 1,561 mobile towers in the state were impacted due to the ongoing protests. 25 of them were damaged, allegedly by some farmers and their supporters in violation of the directions given by farmers’ unions to keep their protests against the farm laws peaceful, PTI reported.
The CM has directed he police to take strict action against vandalisation and disruption of telecom services.
Veteran anti-corruption crusader, Anna Hazare, announced on Monday that he will launch an agitation in New Delhi in January on issues concerning farmers if the Centre did not take a firm decision on his demands. He has not announced the date on which he’ll start the agitation.
