The Delhi High Court on Thursday turned down an application filed by Sushant Singh Rajput’s father Krishna Kishore Singh to block the release of the movie allegedly based on the actor. Kishore Singh had filed a civil suit against the proposed movie on Sushant’s life. The order was passed by a single bench of Justice Sanjeev Narula, reported Live Law.

In April, Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri of the High Court issued notice on Kishore Singh’s father’s petition to ban, seeking for the release of the films about actor’s life to be blocked. The petition stated that it would violate the right to privacy. Regarding the depiction of name, images, personal life, caricature, lifestyle as a story or biopic, the petition said, “any such publication, production, or depiction of the private life of the late actor is a blatant and wilful breach of the fundamental right to privacy which includes right to publicity”, reported Live Law.

Sushant died on June 14, 2020, at Bandra West in Mumbai. His father, and the petitioner, said that the release of the biopics of the actor without the approval of his legal heir should not be undertaken, reported LIve Law. 

Kishore Singh also stated that the launch of the movies took place in an “orchestrated manner” by a closed circle and confidants to manipulate the investigations related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.
