Five children suffocated to death after jumping
into a grain storage container in a morbid incident that occurred in the Himmatsagar
village of Rajasthan’s Bikaner district on Sunday. As per the police, due to
the container being empty at the time of the incident, the children jumped into
it one after the other, resulting in it getting closed accidentally, reported PTI.

Reportedly, Sevaram (4), Ravina (7), Radha (5),
Poonam (8) and Mali were rushed to a government hospital, but they were declared
dead on arrival by doctors, as per Superintendent of Police (Bikaner) Priti
Chandra.

“When the mother of the children came home, she did
not find them. During the search for them, she opened the container and found
them inside it,” PTI further quoted her as saying.

In another tragic accident, three children were
killed and one was injured as a heap of soil collapsed on them in the state’s
Jhunjhunu district on Saturday evening.

This also took a similar turn, as the three children
were declared dead on arrival in the hospital, while the injured boy was
reported to be under treatment.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed his
condolences in the incident, praying for the departed souls and wishing a
speedy recovery of the injured boy.
