Following the denial of the Aam Aadmi Patry’s claim of Delhi CM’s house arrest by the Delhi Police, Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday accused the BJP of not letting him visit the protesting farmers at the capital city’s border, as per ANI.

Kejriwal stated that he had planned to visit the farmers at Delhi’s border not as a Chief Minister but as a common man to express his solidarity with the farmers on the day of the Bharat Bandh.

Addressing AAP members from his residence, Kejriwal stated, “If I wasn’t stopped, I would have gone & supported farmers in their Bharat Bandh call,” as per PTI report.

He further added, “I am glad Bharat Bandh was successful. I prayed for protesting farmers while sitting inside.”

Earlier on Tuesday, the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi accused the Delhi police of placing CM Arvind Kejriwal under house arrest since the latter’s visit to the Singhu border.

Deputy CM Manish Sisodia also held a sit-in protest outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence alleging that the Delhi CM had been placed under house arrest.

BJP, however, was quick to retaliate against the charges made by the Delhi CM, as the party accused Kejriwal of practising politics of “lies, deceit and propaganda.”

The Delhi Police, however, defended the deployment of additional security personnel outside CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence as regular and cited security reasons for the deployment.

Anto Alphonse, DCP, North Delhi said, “We’re coordinating with the CM’s residence. Anyone whom they say they want to allow inside, we will allow.”
