Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday visited the Zydus Biotech Park at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He visited the facility to review the development of the coronavirus vaccine. 

“Visited the Zydus Biotech Park in Ahmedabad to know more about the indigenous DNA based vaccine being developed by Zydus Cadila,” he said in a tweet.

“I compliment the team behind this effort for their work. Government of India is actively working with them to support them in this journey,” he added.

In his visit to Zydus Biotech Park, the PM reviewed the development of Zydus Cadila’s coronavirus vaccine candidate ZyCOV-D.

It was the first leg of the PM’s three-stop tour on Saturday to inspect the development of COVID-19 vaccines.

He’ll also visit Bharat Biotech’s facility in Hyderabad and Serum Institute of India (SII) in Pune.
