India’s innings came to an end on Thursday at a score of 24 for the loss of a wicket, trailing England’s total of 205 by 181 runs. 

Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara are at the crease currently, while Shubman Gill was bowled out for the duck in the very first over of the Indian innings.

England’s first innings in the fourth Test came to an end at a score of 205, with the Indian off-spin duo of Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin picking up four and three wickets each. Ben Stokes and Dan Lawrence were the sole run-getters for England, with the two scoring 55 and 46 runs each.

Left-arm spinner Axar Patel continued his fine form with two wickets, while Mohammed Siraj accounted for the other batsman.

India need to either draw or win the match to find a place in the World Test Championships final in June, while a win for England would revive some of the lost confidence after the thrashing inside two days in the third Test.

For England, batsman Dan Lawrence replaced Stuart Broad while off-spinner Dom Bess came in place of Jofra Archer.

For India, Mohammed Siraj came back in place of Jasprit Bumrah, who has taken leave of absence for the game.
