The Union Health Ministry on Monday announced that India has successfully administered over 8 crore COVID-19 vaccines. This data includes around 90 thousand health care workers (HCW) who have been successfully given the first dose of vaccination and 53,43,493 HCWs who were administered the second dose. Apart from that, at least 97,37,850 Front Line Workers (FLW) were administered the first dose, and 41,33,961 FLWs were administered the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination, reported ANI.

India, so far, has conducted two phases of COVID-19 vaccination drives that allowed inoculation of those above 60 and 45 with co-morbidities.

The third phase of COVID-19 vaccination for those above 45 will begin on Thursday. Around 65 lakh beneficiaries will avail the drug in this round.
