India recorded 42,909 new COVID-19  and 380 deaths in the last 24 hours. According to data released on the Union Health ministry website. Total recoveries since the pandemic began now stands at 3,19,23,405 with the addition of 34,763 new recoveries in the last 24 hours.

The active cases of coronavirus infection are now at 3,76,324. This accounts for 1.15% of total cases.

Meanwhile, the government has administered 31,14,696 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine across the country in the last 24 hours. A total of 63,43,81,358 shots have been administered in India so far.

On August 27, India crossed the historic one crore a day vaccine mark.

India’s recovery rate is at 97.51% while the weekly positive rate is 2.41% and the daily positivity rate is 3.02%.

According to Indian Health Ministry, a total of 14,19,990 samples were collected for the COVID test. While, 52,01,46,525 samples were tested in total up to August, 29, 2021.

It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19. India crossed the grim milestone of two crores on May 4 and three crores on June 23.
