India on Thursday recorded 91,702 new COVID-19 cases and 3,403 deaths, the Union Health Ministry’s data released on Friday showed. The total tally now stands at 2,92,74,823 and the death toll at 3,63,079.

As of Friday, there are 11,21,671 active cases in the country. As many as 2,77,90,073 COVID-19 patients have recovered, including 1,34,580, who were discharged on Thursday.

India started its mass COVID-19 vaccination drive on January 16 and as per the latest count, 239,058,360 have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

After recording over 400,000 cases daily, India is now witnessing a dip, prompting states to lift the COVID-induced restrictions.
