India reported 26,041 new COVID-19 cases and 276 new deaths in the last 24 hours, according to Indian Health Ministry data released on Monday. This takes the country’s COVID related death toll to 44,7194

After Monday’s addition, India now has 2,99,620 active COVID-19 cases, which is the lowest in the last 91 days. The active caseload comprises 0.89% of the total infections. 

In the last 24 hours, 29,621 people recovered from the infection taking India’s total recovery numbers to 3,29,31,972. India’s recovery rate on Monday was recorded at 97.78%, the ministry said.

On the vaccination front, India has successfully administered  86,01,59,011 crores of COVID-19 vaccines under the world largest inoculation drive. Out of this figure, 38,18,362 were administered in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, The daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.24 %. It has been less than 3% for the last 28 days now. While the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 1.94%. It has been below 3% for the last 94 days, according to the ministry.
