On way to registering a record 181-run stand along with Faf du Plessis, Chennai Super Kings opener Shane Watson clobbered a glorious 101-metre-long six off Ravi Bishnoi in the ninth over of the match.

On the fifth bowl of the over, Bishnoi pitched in a wrong-one on the off and Watson, down on his knees, swept it into the stands over mid-wicket for the maximum.

However, Watson’s hit is only the second-biggest six of the IPL 2020 season.

Who takes the first place?

Claiming the first position in an unlikely list, it is Jofra Archer who has smacked the longest 6 in the tournament so far!

It was Lungi Ngidi who faced the wrath of the English pacer. Archer clobbered the CSK pacer for a 105-metre-long in the fourth match of the cash-rich tournament.

In an innings which was marked by swashbuckling knocks from Rajasthan skipper Steven Smith and Sanju Samson, Archer joined late to the party but famously clubbed 27 runs from two legal deliveries in the 20th over.

The Protea conceded two sixes in the first two bowls. On the third ball, he was yet again smacked for a six but this time it was a glaring no-ball too.

Facing the free-hit, Archer stayed cemented deep into the batting crease. As Ngidi offered a length ball, the Barbadian-born murdered the ball straight back over the bowler’s head for the biggest maximum of this year’s IPL so far.

Only Indian in the Top 5

Amongst Indians, it’s Shreyas Iyer who leads the charts with his mammoth 99 metres six against Krishnappa Gowtham of Kings XI Punjab. The Delhi skipper features at number three on the overall list.

The next Indian to follow is RR’s Sanju Samson at No. 8 with his 95-metre-long maximum. However, with 16 sixes, Samson currently tops the most sixes in the tournament charts.

Kieron Pollard is the only player to feature more than once in the top 10 of the list. Currently, he has bagged the 5th, 6th and 7th spot.
