Kangana Ranaut‘s account was on Tuesday suspended by Twitter. The social media website has not given a reason yet. Ranaut, known for her often inflammatory tweets, posted several messages following the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress’ win over the BJP in West Bengal and incidents of post-poll violence. Calling for President’s Rule in the state, she also blamed Banerjee for the violence and called her unpublishable names.

“We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm,” a Twitter spokesperson said in a statement.

On Tuesday, Kangana Ranaut has put out a tweet saying, “This is horrible… we need super gundai to kill gundai… she is like an unleashed monster, to tame her Modi ji please show your Virat roop from early 2000’s… #PresidentRuleInBengal.” Several Twitter users called out this tweet for ‘inciting violence’.

Kangana’s tweet came on reports of violence from West Bengal after Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress swept the recently-held assembly elections.

On Tuesday morning, minutes before the suspension of her Twitter account, the 34-year-old posted on Instagram saying that she was “distressed beyond words” due to the violence taking place in Bengal.

The actor spoke about alleged “death of democracy” with hashtags ‘Bengal Burning’ and ‘Bengal Violence’.
