It is not surprising to find bars of soap, stones, bricks and even masks inside packages ordered online instead of the item that is wanted. The fairly common occurrence disappoints some customers to the point that they stop placing any more orders from the site in question.

However, in a humorous incident a man from Kerala was left dumbfounded when he received a real passport of a random person inside a package for a product he had ordered online.

The man who goes by the name of Midhun Babu and hails from Wayanad had placed an order for a passport cover from the multinational e-commerce company Amazon on October 30.

While he was happy to receive the package on the very next day, i.e. November 1, he was surprised upon opening it to find an original passport of a man named ‘Muhammad Salih’.

According to the details mentioned in the passport, the man named ‘Muhammad Salih’ is a resident of Kunnamkulam in Thrissur.

The incident was reported by Mathrubhumi and the site claims that Midhun Babu tried contacting  customer care to find a way to return the passport to its holder. However, all he got was an apology for the inconvenience caused.

We may never know how an actual passport was found in an Amazon package; one possible explanation is that Muhammad Salih might have returned the passport cover without realising that his passport was still inside it.

Midhun Babu tried to contact Muhammad but the attempt was unsuccessful since the passport did not have a contact number listed on the passport. The document in question has been sent to the postal address mentioned on it, according to India Times.

In the recent past, another debacle from Amazon came to light as a man ordered an iPhone but instead received a bar of Vim soap in his package.
