Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni, on Wednesday, unveiled the team’s new
jersey for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In a video
posted on both Twitter and Instagram handles of the IPL side, Dhoni is seen taking
the jersey out of the box and showing it to viewers.

“Thala Dharisanam! #WearOnWhistleOn with the all new #Yellove!
#WhistlePodu”, the video was captioned.

The jersey contains a few key details, with three stars on top of the
CSK logo representing the three time the franchise has won the IPL trophy, as
well as a stripe of green camouflage near the shoulder area, which, as per a
notification released on the team’s website, is a tribute to India’s armed
forces.

“CSK hold the country’s armed forces close to the heart and showed their
appreciation by presenting a cheque of Rs two crore at the start of the 2019
IPL season. The team’s talismanic skipper, MS Dhoni, is an honorary Lieutenant
Colonel in the Territorial Army and also trained with the Parachute Regiment in
2019”, the release said.

“It has been on our mind for some time now to find ways to raise
awareness about the significant and selfless role of the armed forces. The
camouflage is an appreciation of their service… they are the true heroes,” it
further quoted CSK CEO KS Viswanathan as saying.
