Kollywood’s actor-director couple Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara are all set to marry after dating for more than six years. The couple will tie the knot on June 9 in a resort in Mahabalipuram on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra.  

With preparations underway, the couple’s wedding invite has gone viral on the Internet. The virtual invite features the duo’s animated versions in traditional costumes and wedding details such as date, time, venue and dress code.

“With the blessings of God almighty, our elders, and the universe, we cordially invite you to the wedding ceremony of Nayanthara, daughter of Kurian Kodiyattu and Mrs Omana Kurian, and Vignesh Shivan, son of Mr Sivakolundu and Mrs Meenakumari. 9th June 2022 Thursday, Sheraton Grand Mahabalipuram,” reads the invite.

The ceremony will reportedly be attended by superstars Rajnikanth and Ajith. Recently, pictures of Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan inviting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin  surfaced on Twitter. The picture was shared by trade analyst Ramesh Bala. The picture shows the couple presenting the wedding card and a bouquet of flowers to the CM.

Security at the venue has already been tightened and  guests need to mention a special code provided to them at the entrance. The wedding will be an intimate affair and include friends and family. The couple will exchange vows on Thursday morning and the ceremony will commence at 8 am. The duo will throw a party later, expected to be a star-studded affair.

The two started dating after their second film. Nayanthara announced the engagement during promotion of the film Netrikan last year by showing her engagement ring.
