As India is grappling the second wave of COVID-19 with exponentially rising numbers in COVID-19 positive cases, several countries have temporarily blocked travel from India, and the Maldives became the latest country to join the list after it imposed travel restrictions with India. The Maldives’ Ministry of Tourism announced on its official Twitter handle that the nation has suspended tourists travelling from India to the Maldives from staying at tourist facilities in inhabited islands starting from April 27. 

Following the announcement, the Indian Twitter users saw the funny side to it as many Bollywood stars in the past were seen posting pictures of their vacation from the Maldives while their country was dealing with the pandemic.

The Maldives, undoubtedly, is one of the popular holiday destinations in the world, and even more so among Indian celebrities. Actors such as Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor, Disha Patani, Jahnvi Kapoor flew to the country lately.
