Amid rising COVID-19 cases and the “fourth wave” in Delhi, the government has imposed a night curfew starting from 10 pm to 5 am. The curfew will be in effect from April 6 till April 30. On April 5, Delhi recorded 3,548 fresh cases of COVID-19 infection and 15 deaths. 

With the curfew in effect from tonight, here’s what will be operational and what will be closed in Delhi in the next 24 days –

  1. All restaurants, pubs, weddings, and other party venues will have to close up by 10 pm every day
  2. Those who want to go for COVID-19 vaccination will have to take an e-pass
  3. Doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff will also be allowed movement, however, they will have to show their ID cards.
  4. Patients and pregnant women are exempted
  5. Those engaged in essential services will be allowed movement through e-pass
  6. Passengers commuting to and from airports, railway stations, and bus stands will be exempted if they show valid tickets
  7. Public transport will be allowed to ferry only for those who exempted during the night curfew

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking him to lift the age criteria on COVID-19 vaccination across the country.

“Our government can vaccinate all people in Delhi within three months if rules simplified, permission granted to vaccinate all,” Kejriwal said.
