Pakistan
Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has extended their support to climate activist Disha Ravi
after she was arrested yesterday for her alleged involvement in the toolkit
case in support of the ongoing farmers’ protests. The PTI took to Twitter to back
the 21-year-old activist who was arrested from Bengaluru by Delhi Police Cyber
Cell for allegedly spreading the controversial toolkit. The tweet slammed the “Modi/RSS
regime,” the Bollywood celebrities and cricketers that expressed their opinion
in this regard.

“India
under Modi/RSS regime believes in silencing all voices against them as they did
in IIOJK. Using cricketers & Bollywood celebrities narrative building was
shameful enough, but now they have also taken Disha Ravi for custody over
Twitter toolkit case,” PTI’s tweeted.

Opposition
parties have also spoken in support of the Bengaluru activist.

Congress
leader Rahul Gandhi clearly stated that India will not be silenced.

“Your lips are free to speak. Say that the truth is still alive.
They are scared, not the country,” he said in a tweet in Hindi.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that there is nothing wrong in
supporting farmers.

“Arrest of 21 year old Disha Ravi is an unprecedented attack on
Democracy. Supporting our farmers is not a crime,” Kejriwal tweeted.

RJD leader Manoj Jha said democracy is under threat. “I am worried
about democracy, as it is passing through the most difficult times,” he
said.

The Police claimed that Ravi had edited the “toolkit” that
contained information on the protests and was also shared by Swedish climate
activist Greta Thunberg in early February on Twitter. The police statement
called her a “key
conspirator in the document’s formulation and dissemination”. The toolkit
had basic information on the farmers’ protests, how to join the rallies and
gather support for the movement online. Delhi Police said that Ravi had “shared”
the toolkit with Thunberg.

On Monday, the Delhi Police issued non-bailable warrants against two more activists, lawyer Nikita Jacob and Shanatanu.
