PlayStation India in a statement on Friday said that PlayStation 5, the latest gaming console from Sony, will
be launching in India on February 2, 2021 while the pre-ordering for the much-hyped console will start at 12 PM on January 12, 2021.

“We are happy to announce that PS5 shall be
launched in India on the 2nd of February, 2021 – Pre Orders for PS5
shall begin 12 PM on the 12th of January and shall be available for
Pre-Orders (until stock lasts at respective retailer) at Amazon, Flipkart, Croma,
Reliance Digital, Games The Shop, and Shop at Sony Centre, Vijay Sales and
select other authorized retail partners”, PlayStation India said in the statement.

After its international release earlier on November
12, 2020, PS5 went live for sale immediately in countries such as Australia,
Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, North America and South Korea. The later phases of
the release commenced on November 19, with India largely being one of the later
consumer markets to get its hands on the console.

The revenue generated from the sale of the console
is particularly important for Sony, with a substantial share of the Japanese
corporation’s profits and almost a third of its sales coming by the way of gaming.
