Pokemon GO reportedly earned a whopping £15.4m ($21m) in the two days of its Fest 2021. It became the eighth game to cross $5 billion in revenue since 2014. 

The Pokemon Fest 2021 was held over the last weekend. The ticketed weekend celebrated the game’s five-year anniversary. The fest saw makers Niantic revamp older features such as habitat rotations and Global Challenge Arena. All Legendary Pokemon introduced in the game appeared in the fest that started on July 17 and finished on July 18.

According to app store analytics firm Sensor Tower, the Pokemon Go Fest 2021 made $21 million, making it one of the most lucrative days for the game since its launch in July 2016. The report further added that Pokemon Go passed the $5bn lifetime player spending total. This year (2021) the game has notched up $731 million so far.

Across the two days, Pokemon Go players caught 1.5 billion Pokemon, spun 900 million PokeStops and walked 125m km. This means the trainers caught 93,750,500 Pokemon per hour.

Day one of the fest focused on catching pokemon and completing a set of event-exclusive Special Research that focuses on Mythical Pokemon and music whereas day two was focused on raids and featured almost every legendary Pokemon that has ever been available in Pokemon Go.

The developer of the game, Niantic, released a press release after the event. However, there was no mention of the numbers and finances.
