The protesting farmers will be allowed to enter the national capital, Delhi Police Commissioner said, ANI reported. They’ll have the permission to protest at the Nirankari Samagam Ground in the Burari area, he added.

The Police Commissioner has appealed to the farmers to maintain order and demonstrate peacefully.

Farmers are protesting over the three farm laws that were enacted in the Monsoon Session of the Parliament. As a part of their protest, the farmers had launched a ‘Delhi Chalo’ march on Thursday.

Punjab farmers, representing over 30 farm bodies, had earlier announced they will go to Delhi through several routes — Lalru, Shambhu, Patiala-Pehowa, Patran-Khanauri, Moonak-Tohana, Ratia-Fatehabad and Talwandi-Sirsa.

Meanwhile, police fired tear gas to disperse crowd at the Delhi-Haryana border.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has welcomed the Centre’s decision to allow farmers to enter Delhi “to exercise their democratic right to protest.”

They should also now initiate immediate talks to address farmers’ concerns on the #FarmLaws and resolve the simmering issue,” he said in a tweet.
