After the
conclusion of the ongoing T20 World Cup India will host New Zealand for 3 matches
T20 series and 2 Test matches in November-December. The 2021/22 cricket season has a hectic schedule for Team India and the majority of Indian players are in the bubble
for nearly 6 months now. So, to manage the workload of players it is assuming
that senior players might be rested for NZ series.

 As, many senior players will be rested so there will
be an opportunity for many youngsters to make their place in team and one of
them is likely to be Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, Ruturaj made his T20 debut for
India against Sri Lanka on July 2021 but failed to make an impact.

The
24-year-old backed in form in the second phase of IPL and become the top scorer
in the tournament to win orange cap. According to the reports by
Insidesport.in, Ruturaj likely to be elected in the squad for the NZ series. He
continued his IPL form in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and scored three
consecutive fifties in the tournament so far.

Apart from
him, all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer who impressed everyone in the second leg of IPL
is also in the eyes of selectors. Recently, Cricbuzz suggested that Iyer is one
of the 60 players shortlisted for the South Africa too. With his free-flowing batting,
he played a major role for KKR to reach in the finals of IPL. In 10 matches, he
scored 370 runs and also considering as a future backup for Hardik Pandya. Apart
from them, there are more youngsters likes of Avesh Khan, Umran Malik, Chetan Sakariya
and Devdutt Padikkal who are expected to be a part of the series.

The opening
encounter between India and New Zealand T20 series will begin on November 17 at
Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur followed by next two T20s on November 19 and 21.
After that, teams will clash in 2 Test matches in Kanpur and Mumbai.
