Actor Sonu Sood has emerged as a superhero over the course of the pandemic, coming to the rescue whenever someone has needed help. And former India batsman Suresh Raina discovered the ‘Dabangg’ actor’s philantrophic side first-hand, when Sood offered to arrange an oxygen cylinder within “10 minutes”.

On Thursday, Raina took to Twitter to put out an SOS call for an oxygen cylinder for his COVID-19 positive aunt in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut. The southpaw also tagged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in his tweet.

However, help came from a different source. “Send me the details bhai. Will get it delivered,” Sood tweeted, before confirming, “Oxygen cylinder reaching in 10 mins bhai.”

“Sonu Paji thank you so much for all the help. Big big help! Stay blessed,” Raina replied to his tweet.

Sood’s foundation, which he started for helping people during the pandemic, also came to the aid of several COVID-19 patients in Bengaluru.

Raina, who has been an integral member of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) setup since 2008, was participating in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). A breach of the league’s bio-bubble, resulting in a number of players and staff testing positive, led to an indefinite suspension of this season.
