A Mumbai court on Sunday sent Sushant Singh Rajput’s house help Dinesh Sawant to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) custody till September 9. Sawant was arrested on Saturday by the anti-narcotics bureau, which is investigating a possible drug angle related to the death of Rajput.

Sawant’s lawyer told ANI on Sunday that he (Dipesh Sawant) was in the custody of NCB since September 4, without his family being informed, adding that he should have produced before court within 24 hours.

“We’ve filed a plea against him being kept in custody for over 24 hours. The court has called for a reply from NCB,” said Sawant’s lawyer.

Over the last two days, the NCB has arrested Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik Chakraborty, Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda and Sawant. Showik and Miranda, who were arrested on Friday, have also been sent to the NCB custody till September 9.

The NCB on Sunday summoned actor Rhea, asking her to join the investigation linked to Rajput’s death. Chakraborty was summoned at her home earlier on Sunday and then she reached NCB’s office.

The anti-narcotics bureau told the court on Saturday that Showik needs to be confronted with Rajput’s personal staff, Dipesh Sawant, and his sister Rhea, who is the main accused in the actor’s death case.

Rajput, 34, was found dead at his house in Mumbai’s Bandra on June 14 and three central agencies, the NCB, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are probing various angles linked to his death.
