Virat Kohli’s men in blue take on Aaron Finch’s Australia in a warm-up game before the group stages come alive for the 2021 Cricket World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

Kohli’s men are coming off a good start to their warm-up fixtures, winning their first game against England by 7 wickets and will be eying a second win when they face Australia before kicking off the group stages against Pakistan.

Australia, too, have played one practice match so far and will be looking to keep the rhythm after that win against New Zealand by three wickets.

India vs Australia head-to-head in T20s

India and Australia have been pitted against each other 24 times in T20Is. India bagged 13 wins while Australia managed nine.

In T20 World Cups so far, both teams have faced each other 5 times, out of which India won 3 times and Australia won two.

The teams haven’t faced each other before at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai, ever.

In the last five T20 Internationals played between the two sides, India won two while Australia won three.

Whereas in the last five T20 World Cup matches, India won three and Australia bagged two victories.

India have won five games while batting first and eight when chasing, against Australia’s four wins while batting first and five wins when coming out second to bat.

Historically, Virat Kohli has been the best performing batter for the Indian side in clashes against Australia with the highest score of unbeaten 90 and for Australia, Shane Watson’s unbeaten 124 goes down as the highest individual score.

Ravichandran Ashwin recorded the best bowling figures (4/11) against Australia, whereas for the men in green and gold Jason Behrendorff took four wickets at the cost of 21 runs against India.

Most wickets, however, were collected by Jasprit Bumrah (15) facing the Aussies against Shane Watson’s 10 facing India.

Getting a win in their second warm-up contest against a quality side will fill the teams with a great deal of confidence going into the regular matches of the tournament.
