Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi visited the residence of the victim of the alleged gang-rape in Hathras Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. Congress leaders Rahul and Priyanka interacted with the victim’s family.

“The family couldn’t see their daughter for the one last time. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath should understand his responsibility,” said Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra after meeting the family of the alleged gangrape victim in Hathras.

Priyanka added, “We will continue this fight,” after speaking to the family of the victim.

She said, “The family wants a judicial inquiry into the incident and removal of the District Magistrate. They also want security.”

The Congress leaders had tried to reach Hathras earlier on Thursday but were stopped on their way. The Gandhis were stopped in Greater Noida by the UP administration and Rahul Gandhi was also arrested by the police.

Meanwhile, UP CM Yogi Adityanath had ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the alleged Hathras gang rape case.

The UP CM had also formed a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Wednesday, which was instructed to submit its report.

The SIT probed into the death of a Dalit teenager after her alleged gangrape. It completed its work on Saturday as per a Hathras administration official.
