India captain Virat Kohli and his actress-wife Anushka Sharma have announced a campaign for India’s COVID-19 relief work.  Both of them took their social medal handles to share a video in which they are seen expressing their concern at the COVID-19 situation in India along with sharing details of the fundraiser.

“Since the Covid-19 outbreak, our country is going through trying times, our health systems are being challenged, we need to come together and help our India. Anushka and I have started a campaign on Ketto, to raise funds for Covid-19 relief, and we would be grateful for your support. No amount is too small to save lives,” write Virat.

The same message has been shared by Anushka too.

“Things have been very tough for India as we fight the pandemic and it really pains us to see our country suffer like this. We are grateful to all the people who are fighting for us day and night. Their dedication is appreciated. But now they need our support and we need to stand with them,” the couple said in the video and urged fans to join the movement.

The couple aims to raise Rs. 7 crore for Covid relief and have donated Rs. 2 crore in the fundraiser #InThisTogether, they said in a statement, reports Indian express.

Earlier, Anushka had announced in a separate post on social media that she and her husband Kohli will begin a “movement” in the country’s fight against COVID-19.
