The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday posted a video of stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane in the dressing room after the Gabba victory. After talking about the team’s combined effort leading to the big win, Rahane also praised chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav for keeping an healthy attitude throughout.

Ever Since Rahane and company have worked a miracle at Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane – after a crumbling result at Adelaide – the headlines are in all praise of the stand-in skipper and the new faces in the team. Almost a week after Indian head coach Ravi Shastri – in a video – was seen patting backs, a video of the same day, featuring skipper Rahane is floating on the internet.

Talking about the contributions from each player as he is doing since holding the coveted Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Rahane goes on to call the victory as a ‘combined effort’. In his address he also went on to praise the attitude of Kuldeep Yadav who couldn’t get a game during the tour. Rahane asked him (Yadav) to keep working hard as he would play a big part during the home series against England.

The Indian players were welcomed in their respective home towns with great pomp and show. T Natarajan was seen seated on a chariot as people showered flowers at him. Ajinkya Rahane’s successful captaincy opened a debate, with some experts choosing him for a permanent seat as the bus driver.
