Medium-fast bowler Kartik Tyagi made his debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday as the team took on Delhi Capitals in the 50th match of the 2022 Indian Premier League in Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium. In four overs, he gave away 37 runs and did not manage to take a wicket.

Who is Kartik Tyagi?

Kartik Tyagi made his List A debut for Uttar Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2018. The following year, he was named to India’s squad for the 2020 U-19 Cricket World Cup. He was one of four additional bowlers to travel with Team India for their tour to Australia.

The fast-bowler was picked up by Rajasthan Royals in 2020. He, however, shot to fame in the 14th edition of IPL when he gave away just one run in the final over against Punjab Kings while defending four runs. He was awarded the Player of the Match. He joined SRH in 2022. In a total of 15 IPL games, he has taken13 wickets at an economy of 9.47 rpo, his best figures being 2/29.

“When I went to Australia, I learned a lot. A lot of players were injured and a youngster can also win the tournament and I also want to win matches for India,” Tyagi said after the match against PBKS.

“When I went to Australia, I didn’t go to Jasprit bhaiya because I was nervous but he came to me and discussed many things with me and it was a big moment,” he said.
