The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) will appeal to the people of poll-bound states to punish the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies for introducing “anti-farmer” laws, beginning with a public meeting in Kolkata on March 12, Swaraj India’s Yogendra Yadav said on Tuesday.

The SKM held a meeting on Tuesday to finalise its schedule till March 15, ANI quoted Yadav as saying.

On March 6, which will mark 100 days of the ongoing farmers’ protest, farmers will block the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway at different points from 11 am to 4 pm, Yadav said.

An “MSP Dilao” movement will be launched on March 5 in Karnataka, where farmers will urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure MSP (Minimum Support Price) for crops, Yadav said.

On International Women’s Day on March 8, women protestors will be brought to the fore at all protest sites.

“In a meeting with 10 major trade unions, it was decided in-principle that farmers and labourers will fight this battle together. On March 15, labourers and employees will take to streets across the country against privatisation and corporatisation. Farmers will join them,” Yadav said.
