Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Mega Kolkata rally on Sunday says that the people want ‘asol parivartan’ (real change) and the Bharatiya Janata Party will bring that, reports ANI. The Prime Minister, rallying in West Bengal ahead of the state assembly polls, says people of Bengal want development, peace, and ‘Sonar Bangla.’

PM Modi at the Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Ground hit out at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee saying, “The people of Bengal had chosen you (the CM) as ‘Didi’ but why did you remain the aunt of a nephew? The people of Bengal are asking only this one question from you.”

“She (CM Mamata Banerjee) speaks someone else’s language now and is being controlled by them,” PM Modi says.

Referring to the incident when Mamata Banerjee rode an electric scooty in protest of the fuel prices hike, the PM says, “It is good that you did not fall off the scooty, otherwise you would have enemy the state where the scooty was manufactured.”

“The next 25 years are very important for development in Bengal,” the PM says. He adds, “In 2047, when India will celebrate 100 years of independence, Bengal will lead the country once again.”

“They (TMC) made promises to work for ‘Maa, maati and manush’,” PM Modi says, asking the people at the rally, “But you tell me, has TMC been able to bring change in the lives of common people here in the last 10 years?”

The democratic system has been destroyed in West Bengal, the 70-year-old says, adding “The BJP will strengthen this system. We will bring the change to re-establish public belief in govt systems, in the police, and the administration,” he says.
