India clashed with Pakistan in an epic showdown on Sunday, October 23 as both the teams started their T20 World Cup Super 12 campaign at The Melbourne Cricket Ground(MCG).
Diwali came early for Indians, as Kohli’s unbeaten knock snatched the game that was firmly in Pakistan’s grip.

The former Indian skipper smashed an unbeaten 82 runs from 53 deliveries. He hit six boundaries and four sixes. His two outrageous sixes against Haris Rauf on the last two balls of the 19th over kept India in the hunt. India won the match on the last ball with Ashwin lofting the ball over mid off.
Kohli’s popularity reached even the US, where WWE legend Paul Heyman tweeted after he couldn’t help but notice a rare Virat Kohli and Roman Reigns similarity at the end of the match.

Kohli was mobbed by his exhilarated teammates after the win and he took off his helmet and pointed to the skies with his eyes closed. A splitting copy of Reigns’ trademark celebration sign in the WWE. Roman Reigns who is also known as “The Tribal Chief” has reigned as the title holder for more than 700 days and does the same celebration.

A huge WWE fan, Kohli has been often seen making pro-wrestling anecdotes on the pitch. During a Test match last year, Kohli was caught saying by the stump mic, “Finally…. The Rock has come back…,” a catchphrase that former WWE star and current actor The Rock made famous. Kohli was also caught making an Undertaker reference during the IPL earlier this year.
