With summers at the door, it’s time for us to give some extra attention to our skin, especially our feet. Cracked heels are not only embarrassing but also
painful. Poor foot health can limit your physical activity. Cracked feet
can be a result of dehydration, improper diet, and wearing the wrong kinds of
footwear.

It’s always preferred to start taking precautions before your heels
start to crack and eventually lead to pain and bleeding. Foot care is
more important for people with diabetes as they have an increased risk of
infections, especially in their feet. If cuts and sores get infected, curing them becomes very complicated.  To avoid all these, it is important to follow
foot care tips.

These 5 tips will help your feet stay fabulous:

1. Foot scrub: Using a foot scrub at least twice a week
helps to soften the skin and smooth away any calluses on your feet. By
scrubbing your feet regularly, you can keep those calluses from growing, and
keep your feet soft and smooth. They also help in nourishing the skin and
removing dead skin.

2. Moisturise: After scrubbing your feet, dry them with
a clean, soft towel. Apply moisturiser generously and massage your feet. So, if
you want soft, smooth, pain-free feet, invest in a foot scrub and foot
moisturiser, and spend some time using those products at least twice a
week.  Using natural butters like shea or cocoa butter can keep your
feet soft and hydrated.

3. Trim Your Nails: Trimming your nails is not only a
hygienic practice but also gives a cleaner look to your feet. Use a proper nail
clipper to do so. You can apply nail paint as well afterward to enhance the
look.

4. Wear Comfortable Shoes: Your foot health depends
largely on the kind of shoes you wear. Choose shoes that fit you well.
Tight-fitting shoes can damage toenails, worsen conditions like corns, and
cause foot pain. Apart from the right size, design of the shoe also
matters. For example, wearing high heels regularly can damage the bones of the
foot. While you don’t need to ditch your heels completely, keep a comfortable
pair of flat-soled walking shoes and sneakers for regular use. You can wear
those high heels occasionally.

brighten up your feet in a natural way. They also help in removing dead skin
and also keep your feet soft and healthy.
